Sleigh Ride
Sleigh Ride
Here are two jazzy arrangements of a holiday favorite: "Sleigh Ride"! I like to think of this tune as "Santa's Rhythm Changes" because it features a fast recurring "I-VI-II-V" progression over the A and C sections. Maybe that's because it was written in 1948, and the fresh sound of "bebop" was in the air!
In this video I bring you 2 swinging versions...one you can learn to play with a rhythm section, as well as a solo fingerstyle version with some walking bass. This one will surely keep you entertained during the holidays. Enjoy!
